Distribution

As the UK’s leading book distributor our crucial distribution teams pick, pack and despatch more than 120 million books each year to over 160 countries. Their hard work and 650,000 square feet of warehouse facilitate the scale of our operation.

Editorial

Editorial are the heart of the publishing process, making sure that all the teams have the information they need about the book to do their best work. They oversee the project from agent, all the way through to publication and beyond.

Finance

Finance guide commercial decisions, provide guidance, and solve problems alongside a range of stakeholders at all levels across the business. With a commercial mind and attention to detail they make a business-wide impact on our success.

Human Resources

Legal

At all times, Legal act as strategic partners to the business and are closely connected with the publishing houses and group function departments, supporting on key publishing titles, different projects, and competing priorities.

Library & Archive

The Library and Archive team are recognise the important role we have as keeper and curator of a vast archive of valuable and noteworthy pieces of publishing and cultural history.

Marketing & Publicity

Marketing and publicity is about breaking through the noise to get books to everyone, because a book can change anyone. It’s how you get – and keep – people’s attention.

Permissions & Licensing

Penguin Ventures is the licensing and consumer products team in Penguin’s Children’s team who manage Peter Rabbit, The Snowman, Spot, Flower Fairies, and more.

Publishing Operations

Our publishing operations teams oversee the making our finished products in their different formats. From cover conception and design, to paper type and layout – they bring our books from idea to actuality.

Rights

Our Rights team extend the reach of our authors’ books so that readers everywhere can enjoy them. These include foreign translations, serial rights, and media rights for example.

Sales

Whether that’s to a bookseller, a supermarket or even a restaurant chain – sales is about building both existing and new relationships, and bringing our books to as many people as possible.

Strategy & Operations

We don’t have a crystal ball but we do have Strategic teams dedicated to understanding our landscape – our retailers, consumers and industry. To help us do that, we also need the right operational teams to get the most from our spaces and projects.
