Last week we were thrilled to launch our first website for Penguin Random House Careers UK. We brought our social media channels together fairly early on into the Penguin Random House merger, but as for the website, the project has been a bit more of a labour of love – so thanks for putting up with our interim site for so long…
We put you, the candidate, at the heart of every decision we made around the new site. From the content itself through to the site’s navigation, we wanted to make sure that everything you might want to know is on there and that wherever you are on the site, that finding a job you might want to apply for is quick and easy to get to.
We know that it can be hard to get a sense of what it’s really like to work somewhere just from looking at a website. That’s why we’ve asked some of our colleagues to write blog posts about their job at Penguin Random House – what’s the day-to-day like? What do they like best? What are the challenges?
Most of the photographs on the site, too, were taken by colleagues around the business. We asked people to send us pictures of what life at Penguin Random House was like for them – whether that was their individual desk, a breakout area or busy warehouse floor. We wanted to show you what life is like here through the people who know it best, our employees.
We know the online application form is still a little clunky so we’ll be busy sprucing that up over the next few months and will be introducing a brand new system later on this year. Thank you for bearing with us in the meantime!
