Imagine a place
filled with all your favourite things:
an abundance of new novels
littered around the office
the scent of freshly printed pages
fluttering through the air
the logo of my favourite books
hanging on the walls
the familiar shade of orange
accompanied by the penguin
that bird now resides
at the end of an email
it’s hanging round my neck
next my very own name
from being curled up in bed
with that penguin overhead
now I’m sat in the origin of
the books that send me to sleep
what a shift in perspective
what a magical experience
when the books next to my bed
mirror the books on my desk
it’s hard not to feel like I’m
home.
