The finance team works closely with colleagues across the business, providing financial support on anything from new acquisitions to strategy, helping to drive the growth and profitability of the division.

Finance play a key role in our business from our publishing to group accounting and reporting. The team are based between the London offices and our site in Frating, Colchester.

Publishing finance

The publishing finance team are responsible for providing commercial insight to Penguin’s nine creative and commercially independent publishing houses.

Their key functions span the facilitating of commercial decisions, controlling costs and processes, P&L, budgeting and forecasting, financial policy review, and applying commercial rigour. They see our books through from the early acquisition conversations, right through to their return on investment.

They are based in our London offices.

Central finance are responsible for the understanding and control of the UK and International Penguin accounts and partner to the specialist group functions.

Their key functions span accounting and reporting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, integration reporting and analysis, treasury, statutory reporting, risk analysis, and financial policy review.

The solid foundation you’ll gain will help you move toward a career in accountancy. It will also introduce some of the key areas of a finance team such as AP/AR and management accounts.

Through our hybrid online learning & campus attendance every other week, you will come out with an AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.
